Backend Engineer at Keen IO / Dorm2Cube

Full-time Backend Engineer

at Keen IO in San Francisco

We created Keen IO to be the power behind every custom analytics data store on the planet. Bold? Absolutely. But we’re tired of every successful company having to leave their Google Analytics behind and build data infrastructure and applications from scratch. Since they all end up building the same thing anyways, why not build it the right way, once, and let companies focus on the pieces of analytics that are unique to their businesses?

Does that sound interesting? If so, you might fit in with the rest of us data geeks at Keen IO.

We’re looking for an engineer to join us at our office in downtown San Francisco (9th and Folsom). We guarantee it’s the hipsterest (yes, that’s a word, shut up) office in the whole city. We’re well funded, love folks who want equity, and are crazy hippies about benefits (if it’s tax deductible, it’s yours!). Come join a small team (we’re seven folks right now) and make a big impact.

Here are our requirements:

  • Be smarter than us (it’s not that hard, we swear) AND
  • Want to work on interesting things that can make a dent in the universe

That’s basically it. But, of course, there are some things we’re looking for that could set you apart. We’re especially interested in folks who have experience with:

  • Data architecture
  • JVM
  • Cassandra
  • Storm
  • Distributed systems
  • Dev Ops (a fancy term for “why don’t we automate the hell out of everything?”)

Obviously, we require 15 years of experience with all these things. Just kidding. Seriously, what are those recruiters thinking?

We’re looking forward to meeting you. Give us a holler!
